I’m doing a daily video walking through a bit of the story relating to Christmas songs, and yesterday’s ties in with today’s song. Out of the song “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer” came a special in the 60’s that is iconic, and brought out this gem, sung in the special by Burl Ives. As a child, I loved watching Rudolph, even if the Abominable scared me for a while….but no longer! The Bumble is my favorite! Because……Bumbles bounce! Anyway, Holly Jolly Christmas is a fun song, and I love how Burl Ives sings it. He is American, but has a very unique, almost Irish sound to how he sings some words, and it just makes me smile.
