It’s Election Day here in the United States, and so I figured it might be kind of fun to run two musical icons for President and see who might win.

First up, we have Johann Sebastian Bach. Author of such legendary musical pieces such as “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring”, “Toccata and Fugue in D Minor” and many others. Bach was father to many children, so he knows how to be responsible and supportive of his family. He was not only a church musician, he was an educator, so he knows how to connect with people. And of course, his work with counterpoint and his artistry with fugues shows that he can work his way into and out of any musical situation.

Bach’s opponent in this silliness is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. A musical genius, full of playfulness and spirit in his music, Mozart is the man of the people, the life of the party. Yes, there is the controversy about his Requiem and all, but still, he wrote music that makes you smile and tap your toes, like “Rondo Alla Turca” and more. Mozart will make you feel good about yourself and everything around you!

So, now it’s your turn. In the comments, vote for your chosen musician. If you want to write in a candidate, please do and give a reason why you feel they would be an excellent politician!
