I can’t find exactly why it’s named the Christmas song, but it was written by Robert Wells and Mel Torme during the summer of 1945. It was very hot, and Wells was writing down things to help him cool off. And so the opening lyrics of the song came to be, and about 40 minutes later, Mel Torme and finished writing the rest of the lyrics and the amazing melody. Pretty crazy, if you ask me. So, today, I share with you (in my opinion) the iconic version of THE Christmas Song, sung by Nat King Cole
