Student Highlight: Blake K

In getting ready for our recital on Saturday, as well as winding the year down, Harmanny Music Education is giving a highlight to students!

Blake has been taking piano lessons for 3 years. He is diligent about practicing, always willing to try new things, and has grown as a musician and a person because of piano lessons. It’s been so much fun to see!

Blake is in 4th grade. His favorite subject in school is science. His favorite song is “In the Hall of the Mountain King”. His hobby is building legos. His favorite thing about lessons is learning new music. The thing that he enjoys most about music is that it makes him happy.

Music does so many amazing things for each individual that learns it. Yes, it challenges and pushes them, but it is also fun and enjoyable. I’ve seen all of this happen for Blake as he has diligently worked to learn music.

You can be like Blake and all of my other students who are enjoying the challenge and fun of learning music, by joining us this summer for summer lessons or ukulele camp. You can find out more here. Check out another highlight of a student tomorrow!

Student Highlight- Olivia S

Olivia S is a wonderful student! She’s always cheerful when she comes to her lesson, always agreeable and willing to try anything I ask her to play. Just by looking at her during her lesson, it’s clear that she enjoys music and enjoys learning to play the piano. So here is a little more about Olivia!

Olivia is in 3rd grade. Her favorite subject in school is science. Her favorite song is “Astronaut in the Ocean”. Her hobbies are piano, soccer, basketball and swimming. Olivia’s favorite thing about lessons is “I like making cool songs sound good.” When asked what her favorite thing about music is, she said, “Everything! It’s fun!”

You can join Olivia in making cool songs sound good. Harmanny Music Education is scheduling summer lessons, as well as having a ukulele camp the week of June 27th. You can find out more about both here.

Student Highlight: Caleb L.

Caleb is a student that I’ve had for many years. He’s a naturally gifted musician, who also plays the trumpet! He’s a student (as all of my students are!) that make teaching easy and lots of fun!

Caleb is in 7th grade. His favorite subjects in school are computer science and math. When asked about his favorite song or songs, he said, “There are too many I like to pick a favorite.” (Just like his teacher!) His hobbies and interests are piano, trumpet, Boy Scouts and cooking. His favorite thing about music lessons is “learning to play songs I like”.

This was Caleb playing the “Superb Mario Medley” for Harmanny Music Education’s online recital last spring!

You can join Caleb in taking lessons from Harmanny Music Education by signing up for lessons this summer. You can find out more by going to the Summer Lessons page and finding out about lessons, as well as the ukulele camp that Harmanny Music Education will be offering the week of June 27th. Lessons are either in person or online.
